Key Responsibilities of a Waiter
- Welcoming and Seating Guests – Provide a warm and professional welcome to all guests, guiding them through their dining experience in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Taking Orders and Recommending Menu Items – Use your knowledge of food and beverages to suggest dishes, explain menu items, and take accurate orders.
- Serving Food and Beverages – Ensure timely and proper service of meals and drinks, maintaining high-quality presentation standards.
- Anticipating Guest Needs – Observe guests and provide assistance before they ask, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.
- Ensuring Cleanliness and Organization – Maintain a clean and well-organized dining area, ensuring tables are set, utensils are polished, and all service areas are well-prepared.
- Working with the Team – Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow waiters to ensure efficient service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Handling Guest Feedback – Listen to guest feedback, address concerns professionally, and escalate any issues to the supervisor when necessary.
- Operating POS System – Accurately enter orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system, process payments, and ensure billing accuracy.
- Creating “Milaidhoo Moments” – Go beyond traditional service by engaging with guests, sharing insights about the cuisine, and providing personalized dining experiences.
Qualifications & Skills Required
To be considered for the Waiter position at Milaidhoo Maldives, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role at a luxury resort, fine dining restaurant, or high-end hospitality establishment.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. Additional language skills are an advantage.
- Proficiency in using POS systems to process orders and payments efficiently.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining exceptional service quality.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, ensuring smooth coordination with colleagues and a positive work environment.
- Creative and innovative mindset, willing to go the extra mile to enhance guest experiences.
- Impeccable grooming standards, with no visible tattoos to maintain the resort’s luxury image.
- Experience in multiple Food & Beverage (F&B) operations is a plus.
