Position: Human Resource Cum Learning & Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Human Resource Cum Learning & Development Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of HR functions at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef. This role will primarily focus on training and development, leadership skills, and improving HR processes to ensure that the resort’s workforce is not only compliant with the latest regulations but also continuously evolving to meet the demands of the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Human Resource Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, and staff retention.

    • Ensure compliance with Maldives labor laws and HR best practices.

    • Maintain employee records, handle payroll, and ensure proper administration of employee benefits.

    • Address employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner.

    • Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and provide HR solutions that meet business requirements.

  2. Learning & Development:

    • Develop and implement training programs aimed at improving the skills of employees at all levels.

    • Facilitate leadership development programs to ensure a steady pipeline of future leaders within the resort.

    • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make adjustments to improve learning outcomes.

    • Conduct regular assessments to determine the training needs of employees and create personalized development plans.

    • Support and promote continuous professional development by providing employees with resources to grow in their careers.

  3. Employee Engagement:

    • Foster a positive workplace culture by promoting a high level of employee engagement and satisfaction.

    • Organize and coordinate team-building activities and internal events.

    • Regularly assess employee morale and feedback through surveys, one-on-one meetings, and group discussions.

    • Help build a diverse and inclusive workforce by encouraging collaboration across departments and supporting staff welfare initiatives.

  4. Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a solid understanding of all HR processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with both internal and external standards.

    • Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion and professionalism.

    • Assist in resolving workplace conflicts and mediating disputes when necessary.

    • Ensure all HR-related documentation is up-to-date and compliant with government regulations.

  5. Collaboration with Other Departments:

    • Work closely with department heads and senior management to ensure HR strategies align with the resort’s overall goals.

    • Develop a strong partnership with other business units, fostering communication and collaboration across the resort.

    • Provide support and guidance on employee development and performance management.


Candidate Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications and skills:

  1. Experience and Education:

    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in HR management, preferably within the hospitality industry.

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.

  2. Skills and Expertise:

    • Strong training & development skills and a proven ability to implement effective learning strategies.

    • Expertise in learning management systems and instructional design to deliver engaging and effective training programs.

    • Experience in leadership development and creating tailored programs to nurture leadership potential within the workforce.

    • In-depth knowledge of Maldives labor laws, HR best practices, and local employment regulations.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels and foster a positive workplace culture.

    • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.

    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
