Job Summary:
As a Sous Chef (Banquet), you will lead the banquet culinary team, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes that exceed guest expectations. From menu planning to execution, your role will be pivotal in delivering memorable dining experiences. You will oversee food preparation, maintain the highest food safety standards, and manage banquet events with precision and creativity.


Key Responsibilities

Culinary Standards

  • Plan and prepare banquet menus with attention to detail and innovation.
  • Ensure all food is presented with an appetizing appearance and meets quality standards.
  • Create decorative food displays to elevate banquet presentations.
  • Manage food quantities and plating requirements based on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the banquet culinary team.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff performance.
  • Schedule and coordinate kitchen operations to ensure seamless event execution.

Customer Service

  • Empower the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Address guest concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and other departments to meet event goals.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor food costs and minimize waste to adhere to budget goals.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.
  • Participate in daily Banquet Event meetings to align culinary operations with event requirements.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED, with at least 1 year of experience in culinary, food, and beverage or a related professional area.
    OR
  • A 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field, with 1 year of relevant experience.

Core Competencies

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative flair for developing innovative menus and food displays.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Familiarity with international cuisines and banquet operations.
