About the Position: Senior Wine Guru

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our wine service, from curating exceptional wine lists to ensuring guests receive a top-tier wine experience. The role combines a deep understanding of fine wine, leadership, and impeccable customer service to maintain Anantara’s reputation for excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Wine List Creation & Curation: As Senior Wine Guru, you will oversee the creation and update of the wine list, curating wine-by-the-glass offerings, and managing the overall inventory.
- Wine Cellar Management: You will be responsible for the control and maintenance of the wine cellar, ensuring that wines are stocked correctly and remain in optimal condition.
- Staff Leadership & Training: Lead, train, and guide the wine team, ensuring they uphold Anantara’s high standards of hospitality and wine service.
- Wine Pairing & Tastings: Organize wine dinners, and wine tastings, and ensure each pairing enhances the overall guest experience.
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide guests with a personalized and memorable experience by recommending wines and delivering top-quality service with professionalism.
- Inventory Management: Handle the wine inventory, ensuring proper stocking, rotation, and organization of over 12,000 bottles in the wine cellar.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure that all wine service areas are maintained in pristine condition, while consistently exceeding our guest expectations.

Qualifications for Senior Wine Guru
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of previous wine experience in fine dining or a similar luxury multi-outlet property.
- Certifications: WSET Level 2 or a certification by the Court of Master Sommeliers (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Wine Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of winegrowing, wine production, regional wine laws, and the ability to curate a diverse and appealing wine list.
- Skills: Excellent organizational, inventory management, and leadership skills. Proven experience in organizing wine dinners and tastings.
- Guest Service: Strong customer service skills with the ability to deliver personalized experiences to each guest.
- Communication: Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
