Job Title: Junior Sous Chef - Teppanyaki
As part of the culinary team at NOOE Maldives Kunaavashi, the Junior Sous Chef for Teppanyaki will play an integral role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ready to take their culinary career to the next level in one of the most prestigious resorts in the Maldives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in the daily operation of the Teppanyaki section, ensuring that food is prepared and presented to the highest standard.
- Prepare and cook Teppanyaki dishes with attention to detail, utilizing fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Work alongside other chefs to create new and innovative Teppanyaki menus and dishes.
- Ensure the kitchen is maintained in a clean and orderly manner, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen staff.
- Oversee and ensure the correct execution of recipes and cooking techniques.
- Monitor stock levels and manage food inventory in accordance with resort requirements.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, ensuring guests receive exceptional dining experiences.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury resort or fine-dining restaurant, particularly in Teppanyaki cuisine.
- A passion for Japanese cooking techniques and ingredients, with a keen eye for presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a team player with a positive attitude.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Flexibility to work in a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
