Job Opportunity: Executive Sous Chef

As the Executive Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring that each dish served to guests is not only a culinary delight but also a work of art. You will work closely with the head chef and kitchen team to manage kitchen activities, uphold quality standards, and bring innovative ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Kitchen Operations: Ensure smooth kitchen operations, delivering consistent, high-quality dishes within budget constraints.
  • Staff Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and creative working environment.
  • Innovative Culinary Concepts: Drive innovation in the resort’s food and beverage offerings, creating unique dishes and culinary experiences that match the resort’s artistic and luxury ethos.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Maintain the highest standards of food presentation and guest service, ensuring every dish meets the expectations of our high-end clientele.
  • Training and Development: Attract, recruit, and train talented kitchen staff while providing ongoing performance appraisals to develop their skills.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Oversee kitchen inventory, forecast food orders, and plan for events and special promotions to ensure the seamless running of the kitchen.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a five-star resort, particularly in the Maldives.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken), with strong customer service orientation.
  • Culinary Expertise: A deep understanding of kitchen operations, a passion for food, and an ability to create innovative, artistic dishes that impress guests.
  • Leadership: Ability to forecast, plan, and manage teams efficiently. You must be able to guide and motivate a diverse group of individuals to achieve the highest kitchen standards.
