Position: Assistant Stores and Purchasing Manager
Role Overview
As the Assistant Stores and Purchasing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient operation of the resort’s procurement and inventory systems. This position requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and strategic thinker who can manage supplies, streamline procurement processes, and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the purchasing and inventory management of essential supplies, ensuring the smooth operation of all resort departments.
- Maintain accurate stock levels by conducting regular inventory checks and audits.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain high-quality products at the best possible prices.
- Develop and implement efficient purchasing strategies aligned with the resort’s operational goals.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with resort policies and quality standards.
- Collaborate with various departments, including F&B, housekeeping, and engineering, to forecast supply needs.
- Monitor and control budgets related to procurement and store management.
- Stay updated on market trends, new suppliers, and emerging procurement strategies to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and oversee proper storage and distribution.
- Implement sustainable and cost-effective purchasing methods in alignment with The Nautilus Maldives’ commitment to eco-friendly practices.
Candidate Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury resort or high-end hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing and inventory management systems.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
- High level of responsibility, organization, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach to procurement challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
- A deep understanding of luxury hospitality standards and guest expectations.
