Position: Assistant Stores and Purchasing Manager

Role Overview

As the Assistant Stores and Purchasing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient operation of the resort’s procurement and inventory systems. This position requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and strategic thinker who can manage supplies, streamline procurement processes, and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the purchasing and inventory management of essential supplies, ensuring the smooth operation of all resort departments.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels by conducting regular inventory checks and audits.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain high-quality products at the best possible prices.
  • Develop and implement efficient purchasing strategies aligned with the resort’s operational goals.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with resort policies and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including F&B, housekeeping, and engineering, to forecast supply needs.
  • Monitor and control budgets related to procurement and store management.
  • Stay updated on market trends, new suppliers, and emerging procurement strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and oversee proper storage and distribution.
  • Implement sustainable and cost-effective purchasing methods in alignment with The Nautilus Maldives’ commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury resort or high-end hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • High level of responsibility, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach to procurement challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
  • A deep understanding of luxury hospitality standards and guest expectations.
