Male' Women's Development Committee to Conduct Surveys on Women's Situations

The Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of the Male' City Council has announced plans to conduct surveys aimed at understanding the situations of women living in the city.

Survey Objectives

In a statement today, the committee expressed that this initiative is designed to collect valuable information to foster "a brighter tomorrow" for women in Male'.

The program will focus on gathering insights that assist in women's empowerment, support development activities, protect women's rights, and enhance political participation among women.

As part of this initiative, the committee aims to:

  • Increase the number of women pursuing higher education
  • Assess the unemployment rates among women who have completed their studies
  • Collect data necessary for strengthening health services for women

Survey Timeline and Coverage

The WDC stated that the survey will commence on Monday, with teams conducting surveys on Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays each week.

The initiative is expected to span six months and will cover 18 areas within the city.
