Uchhu and Champa Afeef Recognized with Prestigious SATA Face of South Asia Award

At the 2024 South Asian Travel Awards (SATA), two of the most influential figures in Maldivian tourism were recognized for their outstanding contributions.  The winners of the prestigious 'Face of South Asia' award were Mohamed Moosa, Chairman of Champa Brothers and Hussein Afeef, Head of Crown Company. Their contribution to the tourism industry in the Maldives is reflected in this award, which is very significant. 

Special Recognition at Meeru Resort. 

The ceremony for the award was held at Meeru Resort, a property owned by Afeef, where Uchhu and AffeeF were acknowledged for their significant contributions to the tourism industry. Speaking on the occasion of the awards presentation, SATA Vice President Suraj Khan highlighted the significant contribution made by both individuals to the Maldives' success as a tourism destination. 

Contributions Beyond Tourism

Although Uchhu and Afeef are major figures in the tourism industry, they are also actively involved in other key sectors of the Maldivian economy. Uchhu has made significant contributions in agriculture, fisheries, real estate, and finance. He credits his diverse business ventures with not only boosting the local economy but also fostering long-term growth in these industries. Similarly, Afeef has played a pivotal role in building the infrastructure that supports the Maldives' thriving tourism sector. This distinction highlights their broader impact beyond tourism.

9th Edition of SATA
