Stormy Weather Forecasted Across Maldives Throughout the Week

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued a warning for stormy weather across much of the Maldives for the upcoming week.

With the Southwest Monsoon currently active, the MET Office forecasts strong winds in the northern region, ranging from 15-25 miles per hour, while the southern region is expected to experience winds of 13-23 miles per hour. Gusts could reach between 45-55 miles per hour over the next five days.

Due to the strong winds, rough seas and surge waves are anticipated throughout the week. The MET Office has also warned of heavy showers and thunderstorms across the country.

Travelers, especially those planning sea voyages, are advised to exercise caution as conditions are expected to be hazardous.
