Nautilus Foundation Scholarship Application Deadline Approaches Next Month

The Nautilus Foundation has announced that the deadline for scholarship applications will be next month. Scholarships are currently available in four fields:

  • Medicine
    The Medical Specialisation Scholarship aims to address the urgent need for advanced healthcare services by providing opportunities for medical professionals to pursue specialised training. Recipients will be required to serve at least one year at a medical facility in the Maldives, outside the Malé region. The scholarship allows studies in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Nepal, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, or Sri Lanka.

  • Aircraft Engineering
    The Aircraft Maintenance Licence Programme – EASA Part 66 scholarship offers comprehensive training to certify students as aircraft maintenance engineers, maintaining the highest safety and operational standards in this vital industry. Applicants must submit an eligibility letter from the institution along with their application.

  • Journalism
    The Mass Communications Undergraduate Degree Scholarship aims to empower future journalists and media professionals, strengthening the foundation of a transparent and informed Maldivian society. This scholarship is also available for studies in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Nepal, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, or Sri Lanka.

  • Commercial Cookery
    The Certificate III in Commercial Cookery scholarship is tailored for aspiring culinary professionals eager to elevate the Maldivian hospitality industry, enhancing both local and international culinary standards. Recipients must serve a minimum of three years in the Maldives after completing their studies.

Throughout their studies, the Nautilus Foundation will cover all tuition fees, and provide return tickets to the country of study, medical insurance, visa fees, and monthly stipends.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be Maldivian citizens.
  • The study programme must be offered by a university in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, the Philippines, Bangladesh, India, or Sri Lanka.
  • Applicants must successfully pass the selection interview.
  • The study programme should not be ongoing or have commenced at the time of application.
  • Applicants should not be on paid leave or receiving any other scholarship.
  • Applicants must not have previously received a scholarship from the Nautilus Foundation.
  • A letter confirming university placement must be obtained, meeting the admission requirements of the chosen institution.
  • A minimum IELTS score of 7 is required.
