Yameen Alleges Corruption: Faisal, Son of Speaker Abdulla Raheem, Buys Land in Malé

Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has alleged that Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal, the son of Speaker of the People’s Majlis Abdul Raheem Abdulla, has purchased a plot of land in Malé City.

In response, Faisal clarified that he does not own any land or apartments in any part of the country.

"I don't have any flats or land in my name anywhere. Not even in Malé. When I visit my island, I stay at my father's residence," said Faisal, the son of Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla.

Faisal described Yameen’s statements as a personal attack and noted that supporters close to Yameen have been harassing him on the streets.

He further called on Yameen to stop spreading “outright lies” and to avoid sowing discord among the public.

Meanwhile, Yameen continues to claim during his rallies that officials from the current government are purchasing land and engaging in corrupt activities.
