Maldives to Implement Emergency Hotline 911 for Quick Response

The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology has initiated efforts to introduce short code line 911 as an emergency response hotline.

This hotline, designed to connect callers with relevant responders, was proposed by the Ministry of Health to the Social Council at the President's Office, which approved its implementation as soon as possible.

Ministry to Lead Hotline Implementation

The establishment of the hotline will be spearheaded by the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology, with 911 designated as the dedicated number.

Meetings Held for Rollout Planning

A meeting was held at the end of September with Homeland Security Minister Ali Ihusan, Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau, and senior officials from the Maldives National Defence Force to discuss the rollout.

Following this, the Ministry of Homeland Security met with Aasandha, IGMH, and other relevant institutions yesterday.
