New Cabinet Ministers' Approval Sent to Parliamentary Committee for Review

Following the recent cabinet reshuffle by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the parliamentary process to approve the appointments of three newly reassigned ministers has been forwarded to the Government Oversight Committee for review.

During the first session of the third term of the 20th People's Majlis, Speaker of Parliament read out the President's letter regarding the appointments.

In his letter, the President submitted the names of the three cabinet ministers appointed on September 30 for parliamentary approval, following the Maldivian Constitution.

The appointments include:

  • Moosa Zameer: Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, now appointed as Minister of Finance.
  • Dr. Abdulla Khaleel: Former Minister of Health, now serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
  • Ahmed Nazim Ibrahim: Former Principal Secretary to the President on Public Policy, now appointed as Minister of Health.


Deputy Speaker Ahmed Nazim, who presided over today’s parliamentary session, confirmed that the matter had been forwarded to the Government Oversight Committee for further review and recommendation.
