BML Announces Recipients of Its Inaugural Bank Fund

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has revealed the organizations selected to receive its inaugural 'Bank Fund', which aims to empower NGOs to enhance their communities through sustainable initiatives.

This marks the first year the Bank Fund is being awarded.

Selected Projects

  • Coral Farm Organization: A project in Baa Atoll Dharanvandhoo focused on protecting marine species and cultivating corals.
  • Children of Maldives: Aiming to raise environmental awareness and establish a library in ViliMale'.
  • Dhiggaru Ekuveri Zuvaanunge Gulhun: An initiative centered on agriculture and food safety.
  • Veymandoo Zuvaanunge Gulhun: A project to create training rooms at Thaa Atoll Veymandoo School for sensory and vocational training for children with special needs.
  • Unity Sports Academy: Focused on empowering youth through sports and technology, and setting up media and sports labs at Shaviyani Atoll Funadhoo School.

BML Deputy CEO's Statement

In announcing these five organizations as recipients of the Bank Fund this year, BML Deputy CEO and Acting CEO Aishath Nooradeen stated that the fund will facilitate positive changes throughout the country.

Bank Fund Details

Under the Bank Fund initiative, BML will allocate a total of MVR 200,000 in grants each year to support five projects.
