Beond’s First Year: Growth, Achievements, and Future Ambitions
This October marks the first anniversary of Beond, the world’s pioneering premium leisure airline, which continues to redefine luxury air travel. Established through a joint venture between the Maldives' SIMDI Group and the UAE's Arabesque, Beond has made its mark as the only airline offering an exclusively business-class experience tailored for leisure travelers.
A Year of Growth and Innovation
In its inaugural year, Beond expanded its fleet with the introduction of a second aircraft, the Airbus A321, featuring 68 premium seats. These seats, designed by Italian manufacturer Optimares, are outfitted with Ferrari leather and lightweight carbon fiber linings, delivering an unparalleled blend of luxury and comfort. Each seat is engineered for maximum relaxation, complemented by personal Apple iPad Pros, offering a seamless in-flight entertainment experience.
Beond originally launched with an Airbus A319, accommodating 44 passengers, servicing routes between the Maldives, Munich, and Riyadh. Over the year, the airline has expanded its network to include additional destinations such as Milan and Dubai, catering to both scheduled flights and charter services.
Rising Demand and Strategic Expansion
The demand for Beond's exclusive business-class offering has surged, with the airline consistently exceeding its projections. According to CEO and Chairman Tero Taskila, the first year has been a resounding success, thanks to strong market resilience and fruitful partnerships within the aviation industry. Despite the inherent challenges of operating a high-end airline, Beond has met and surpassed key milestones, positioning itself for sustained growth.
Looking forward, Beond has ambitious plans to expand its fleet to 27 aircraft by 2028, with a corresponding increase in destinations to 54 worldwide. In the latter half of 2025, the airline will add four new aircraft, bringing three to four new destinations with each addition. Taskila's vision is to make Beond a leading choice for discerning travelers across the globe.
Announcing New Routes and Charter Services
As part of its first-anniversary celebrations, Beond unveiled its newest A321 aircraft, which is now operating between Riyadh and the Maldives. In addition, the airline has announced upcoming routes to key markets, including China, India, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The A321 aircraft is also available for charter flights, providing an elite travel experience for private groups and exclusive events.
