Aminath Hussain and Namza Shifted to New Ministries Following Claims of Workplace Harassment

Two senior officials from the Ministry of Social and Family Development have been transferred to new ministries amidst ongoing allegations of harassment and bullying within the organization.

Reports confirm that State Minister Aminath Hussain and Deputy Minister Aminath Namza were reassigned in an internal shuffle. Aminath Hussain, daughter of Central Maafannu MP Asma Rasheed, has been transferred to the Fisheries Ministry as a State Minister, while Namza, a well-known television personality, has been moved to the Local Government Ministry in the capacity of Deputy Minister.

A senior official from the Ministry of Social and Family Development confirmed the transitions describing the changes as routine internal transfers.

However, the transfers come shortly after Aishath Shooza, Director of the Ministry's Elderly Department, accused the Ministry's leadership of creating a hostile working environment. Shooza alleged she had been harassed, bullied, and discriminated against, leading to her resignation, though she did not name any individuals involved.

The Ministry has since denied these allegations.
