President Muizzu Announces 20-Year National Development Masterplan

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has unveiled plans to develop a comprehensive 20-year National Development Masterplan, marking a significant initiative outlined in his manifesto. The announcement came during a recent Cabinet meeting where the scope and objectives of the plan were discussed.

In a video message, President Muizzu emphasized that the Masterplan aims to be finalized within a year and will actively involve citizens from all sectors, including political parties, civil society groups, experts, and other stakeholders. “The Masterplan will be supported by a dedicated law,” he stated, highlighting the commitment to creating a robust framework for long-term development.

The President stressed that the plan’s success hinges on public participation and input. Discussions and consultations will be conducted across all islands to ensure that the development process reflects the collective vision of the Maldivian people. “This initiative is beginning now. It is a collective effort and, with everyone's participation, it will ensure the future of our children,” President Muizzu said.
