Government Dissolves Land and Survey Authority

The Maldivian government has officially dissolved the Land and Survey Authority, transferring its responsibilities to the Ministry of Housing, Land, and Urban Development.

In a statement issued today, the President’s Office confirmed that all tasks previously managed by the authority will now be handled directly by the ministry. The move is part of an effort to streamline operations and reduce public expenditure.

The Land and Survey Authority was initially established in 2011 during former President Mohamed Nasheed’s administration. According to the government, this restructuring aims to enhance service efficiency while cutting costs.
