Foundation Laid for Maldives Hajj Corporation's New Offices in Hulhumale'

The foundation for the new headquarters of the Maldives Hajj Corporation has been laid in Hulhumale', marking the beginning of a significant infrastructure project aimed at expanding the corporation’s services.

The new offices, which will span a 5000 square foot plot located in front of Amin Avenue, are being developed to better serve the corporation’s growing responsibilities in facilitating the Hajj pilgrimage for Maldivians.

At a ceremony held on-site yesterday morning, the foundation stone was laid by Managing Director of the Hajj Corporation, Mohamed Shakeel, alongside other senior officials. The project marks a major milestone for the corporation, as it plans to move from its current rented location to a more permanent and expansive home.

The construction of the nine-storey building has been contracted to Medtech Maldives Pvt Ltd, under a contractor finance agreement valued at MVR 79.1 million. This ambitious project will provide the Hajj Corporation with much-needed space and resources, enhancing its capacity to handle the administrative and logistical needs associated with organizing Hajj trips.

The current offices of the Hajj Corporation are housed in a rented private building, but the completion of this new headquarters will allow the corporation to operate out of its own premises. The shift will enable the corporation to streamline operations and improve services for the thousands of Maldivian pilgrims it supports every year.

According to officials, the project reflects the growing importance of the Hajj Corporation’s role and the increasing demand for their services. The new headquarters is expected to be completed within the next two years, providing not only office spaces but also additional facilities to support the corporation’s work.
