A 45-year-old Bangladeshi national, Jahangir Aalam, has been arrested in connection with the alleged theft of over MVR 400,000 from under the seat of a motorcycle.
The Maldives Police Service stated that MVR 442,750 was stolen from the motorcycle, and during the remand hearing held yesterday, the Criminal Court ordered Jahangir to be remanded in custody for 15 days.
Although Jahangir has denied the allegations, the police presented key evidence linking him to the crime, including CCTV footage and a statement from the owner of the stolen money, as noted in the court order.
